Executive Summary
Engku Abd Ghapur bin Che Engku Ali is a materials scientist specializing in nanostructured metal-oxide semiconductors and polymer nanocomposites. He has led projects on graphene-nanoplatelet-reinforced high-density polyethylene for mechanical performance and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, hydrothermal synthesis of Mn/Co-doped ZnO nanorods for optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications in dye-sensitized and hybrid-polymer solar cells. His structural and optical investigations of ZnO-SiO2 and ZnO-Zn2SiO4 hybrid composites have deepened understanding of how morphology controls function. As principal and co-supervisor of undergraduate and postgraduate students, he integrates rigorous experimental design with advanced electron microscopy, spectroscopy and electrical-transport techniques. He also delivers lectures and hands-on labs in nano-semiconductor device fabrication, modern physics and classical mechanics, emphasizing critical thinking and practical characterization skills that prepare graduates for research and industry roles.
