Executive Summary
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudiah Md Hanafiah is a maritime scholar and former Head of the Bachelor of Maritime Operations Management Programme at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). With over 20 years of combined academic and industry experience, she holds a PhD in Transport and Logistics, an MBA in Shipping Management, and a bachelor's degree in Maritime Management. Her expertise spans sustainable maritime operations, port competitiveness, automation readiness, blue economy governance, and workforce resilience. She has led and collaborated on numerous national research grants, published in high-impact journals, authored books, and presented at major international conferences. Dr. Rudiah serves as Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (Terengganu Section) and is a peer counsellor with the Malaysian Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Association. Recognised with multiple awards for research, teaching innovation, and service excellence, she continues to be a driving force in advancing sustainable and innovative practices in the maritime sector.
